Yes Boxes can entertain at ANY age!

So, I've always heard that instead of buying your kids expensive toys just give them a box to play with. I thought this meant when they are like at least a year or older, but Zoey is already entertained by boxes! I've been packing this week to get a head start on our move in Sept. You can see she has a toy next to her but she'd rather touch and play with the box! I think it's so cute. Zoey seems to always know when the camera is around and stops whatever she's doing to look at it. Makes it kind of hard to get certain pictures but she's just too cute!
She's just so adorable playing with the box.

Thanks Danielle for Tagging Me!

Ok, so I was finally tagged. I always see these on other peoples posts but it finally got around to me, YEAH (yes, that was sarcastic!). Anyways, here goes nothing:

This one is called "The Five" here are my five answers to each question:

Five things I was doing 10 years ago:
1. I was 13 and couldn't wait to be going to dances.
2. I was the secretary of the Homeschool Teen Group.
3. I was totally into AOL IMing and would spend hours a day on it. (Kind of like I do my blog now!)
4. I babysat ALOT, I use to bring home $200 a week babysitting!
5. Uh,.... I homeschooled and LOVED it.

Five things on Today's "To Do" list.
1. Pack, pack, and pack some more. (I'm getting ready to move Sept 1st)
2. Go to the bank and deposit Clay's paycheck.
3. Figure out how to get the A/C fixed on Clay's car so we can sell it. (We took it to CarMax yesterday and they only offered us $500 for it, ridiculous!)
4. Get all my projects ready for my Stampin Up party tomorrow.
5. Make Brown Sugar Muffins. (this was on my list today but I never got around to it, it's been on my list for weeks!)

Five snacks I enjoy:
1. Chocolate Covered Pretzels
2. Brown Sugar Muffins (if I ever get around to making them)
3. Medium (32 oz) Chocolate shake from Whataburger
4. Gary's chocolate chip cookie dough
5. Chocolate Moose

Five things I would do if I were a millionaire:
1. Buy Clay all the camera equipment he wants.
2. Buy a house.
3. Take my mom and sisters to China to visit my Aunt Paula
4. Payback everyone that has ever helped me out.
5. Buy Clay a Projector and better surround sound, better yet, build him a room in our new house that is a mini movie theater!

Five places I have lived:
1. BYU (I was born while my parents were students)
2. Meadow Village in Houston
3. Easton Commons in Houston
4. On Preston in Dallas
5. In Carrollton in Dallas

Now I get to tag five people, lets see...
1. Megan Curtis
2. Cami (Johnson) Evans
3. Clay
4. Heather (because I know she hates it!!!)
5. Brett and Emily

Thank you to anyone who actually read through the whole tag, you are the best! Have a great day!

Zoey's First taste of Rice cereal

So, Zoey is 4 months, 2 weeks, and 6 days old today. All the books and everyone I talk to says that babies should start solids between 4-6 months. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to get her started, especially since it might take a few weeks for her to get use to it and actually start eating. So, this being my first time to feed a baby their first foods it was quite interesting. I'm glad the box gave directions for "baby's first feeding" otherwise I would have been clueless. She only ate a few bites and spit out as many bites as she ate but it was a good first try in my opinion. Here are a few pictures from the experience.

She liked to try and grab at everything while I was feeding her so I had to hold her hands down.
She enjoyed most of the bites but she made some funny faces on some!

She swallowed the bites I put further back in her mouth the best. I guess I have to learn how to feed her just like she needs to learn how to eat.
She liked to push out some of the food. The best was when it looked like she had swallowed a bite and then smiled and it came drooling out the side!
She liked the spoon most of all. Good thing I bought a few so she can play with one while I try and feed her.
Isn't she just the cutest ever!

Well, I'm not as good as my friend Danielle at getting posts out but I'm sure going to try and get one at least every other day if I can't do it everyday. Wish me luck!

Zoey's Faces

Yeah, yeah, yeah, more pictures of Zoey! Last week we were at my Sister-in-laws house in McKinney and she just got this Bumbo seat for her little one. We decided to try it out and see if Zoey like it. Of course she did!

We love this face, she's always looking around in interested in everything that's going on.

I don't know what caused this face but it's cute! She looks like a giant and like she's holding on the the chair for dear life!
This is a great face! No, she's not drugged! She's just tired and happy at the same time!
She loved to smile and giggle! In the mornings she's extra happy and she will start giggling without me even having to do anything but look and her and smile real big! I love this stage!
Well, my friend showed me how I can do posts and then save them to pop up at later times so that I don't post 10 all at once! So I'll be doing that to space out my posts a little but I couldn't resist the two I put up tonight. Hope you enjoy them, more will come!

How do I keep her from Growing Up?

So, as ya'll know, Zoey is growing up SO fast! It seems like just yesterday she rolled over for the first time, and now I can't seem to stop her! At first I was OK with the rolling because she would could only roll from her back to her tummy and could only roll to the right, not the left. She would play on her tummy for a few minutes then she'd start to cry because she wanted to roll back over and couldn't by herself. Now look where I caught her today! I placed her squarely in the center of that play mat and she was playing with the toys hanging above her, next thing I know she was all the way over there! She not only rolls but she also sticks her butt in the air and kinda scoots just a little (that's how she gets all turned sideways). After this picture below I put up my camera and then turned around and saw Zoey push up on her hands and knees! Her stomach and chest were off the floor! Granted it was only for a split second but I freaked out and ran over and picker her up and hugged her really hard and told her she better stop growing up!

Later that afternoon after Daddy got home I was telling him about it and then I had to run an errand. When I got home he said he turned around and found Zoey had somehow rolled/scooted over and had her head under the couch flap! She needs to stop growing up so fast! I can't believe she's already 4 1/2 months old! We just love her to death!

More Projects by Me!

Ok, so I've had this idea to do these bookends for awhile now but I haven't been able to find the stand part! I had even bought my own wood to put together but I just couldn't figure it out! So I found these stand at Wal-Mart the other day on clearance for $2 . I had already painted the Z and M and then I just had to put it all together! I think it turned out cute!I chose to do Z and M for Zoey's initals instead of the usual A and Z.
Zoey doesn't have much hair but I can't wait till she does! While Crystal was in town we went to Sam Moons and they had the cutes supply of bows! Jenn, my sister-in-law, made me little headbands for Zoey that I can just clip in whatever bow I want and change it out, totally an awesome idea! But I needed something to hold all the bows so I could see them! So, I made this the other day. I think it turned out pretty good!
As you can see it's already FULL of bow so I don't know what I'm going to do when I get more, guess I'll have to make another one or just add more ribbon!

Zoey Swimming

So, Zoey loves swimming too! We go swimming at least once a week and the most in one week so far is I think 4 times! I am so glad that all this time in the sun she hasn't burned! And yes, here is a picture of me on the blog, don't expect too many of them! She loves her hat! She'll hold on to it while she's in the pool and even in her car seat so that it won't get blown away or taken off.
With all the swimming we totally wear Zoey out! I'm so happy that she'll sleep just about anywhere!
Grandma Meldrum helped feed me this day at the pool. Yummy! Zoey loves her Grandma Meldrum.
Zoey loves her Grandpa Meldrum too! I love the face she's making. She loved making new faces lately and it just cracks me up!
Well, these pictures were taken a few weeks ago when Clays sister Crystal was in town with her husband and 3 adorable girls! We haven't seen them since the family trip to New Port Beach, CA like 3 years ago or something like that! It was so fun for Zoey to meet her other cousins, they just loved Zoey and would always come up and give her hugs and kisses and play with her! We sure miss them since they live so far away!

Zoey's Bath

Zoey loves her bath time. If she's fussy and I can't figure out what she wants all I have to do is turn on the tub and throw her in! She loves it! She's been learning to use her voice lately but she seems to take it to anther extreme when she's in the tub. I guess it's the acoustics but she talks more and louder. She also loved to blow raspberries while in the tub. This is her only tub toy, well, it's actually the cup we use to dump water on her but I don't have anything else right now so she plays with it!
Of course Daddy had to censor the photos and make them appropriate for innocent eyes! Man, I can't believe how big she's getting, I remember when she wasn't even as long as the whale sponge under her and how she's almost too big for it!

I know, it's all about Zoey!

Ok, so I know I mostly blog about Zoey but how can I not blog about her when I have the bestest baby in the world! I am amazed each day to see how she is growing and progressing! It's so fun to watch her the last few weeks learning to master the art of putting in her pacifier herself. If she takes it out herself she can usually get it in herself. Sometimes she drops it and can pick it up and figure out how to make the pacifier side facing her but not always rightside up! It's funny when she puts it in upside down!

It's also fun to see her the last few days trying to figure out her body. When she rolls over for tummy time she has been doing this whole booty in the air thing where she is face planted in the ground, grunting and drooling and trying as hard as she can to get her butt in the air and her legs under her. She's going to be crawling before too long and I'm going to be sad :(

The other thing she has started to do is grab at things that mommys holding or just at mommy! The other day she pulled out a whole handful of hair. She like to grab my shirt, glasses, hair, my cup, silverware and anything else I have in my hands that are within her reach! It a good thing I haven't been wearing earrings or necklaces lately!

Lastly I want to mention her chomping skills. On her saucer toy, as we call it, is this long skinny green stem with a blue flower like thing with different knobs around it that you can chew on (see pictures in past posts). At first she never played with that toy but now it's her favorite! She cries when its been turned around and she can't quite reach it. She will chop on that thing forever! She also drools alot when she chops on it. When she's not in her saucer she is ALWAYS chomping on her fingers or hand. Sometimes she even gags herself when she sticks her finger or hand in too far. I think with all this chomping she might be starting to teeth but so far I can't feel anything but who knows!

Oh, the joys of motherhood.
Next post I'll try and get you some pictures!

Last post for the day!

Ok, so I know that I added alot of posts today because I was way behind! I hope ya'll like them! We went to the lake on Saturday and even though I applied sunscreen TWICE I still burned bad on my back. It hurts so bad! Here are a few pictures from that day.
Zoey loves her Aunt Candice!
She zonked out on us for awhile! I'm glad she didn't burn!

4th of July

For the 4th of July we spent most of the day with my best friend Danielle and her family. We saw her new house which is so cool and then went to the spray grounds and then saw the fireworks in McKinney. It was a fun day! I'm so sad that Danielle has moved so far away from me that I can't see her everyday :(

Daddy played with Zoey in the water while mommy sat on the side talking with her friend.Aren't the two little ones so cute! Jake is only 6 weeks old and Zoeys almost 4 months!

This is Danielle we're waiting for it to get dark so the fireworks can start.
It's firework time!!!!
Zoey LOVED watching the fireworks with Daddy. She did so good staying up so late! She didn't go to bed till 10pm! That's over 2 hours past her bed time. We had a great day!

Bradley Babies

This last week two of the mommys from my Bradley class and I got together to share stories and show off our babies. Here is a group shot of our precious little ones! Jonathan (2 weeks older than Zoey), Zoey (4 months), and Chloe (2 months). I hope to be able to get together with the other mommys from class and keep in touch with them all. Isn't natural labor fun!

YW Car Wash

To raise money for girls camp this year our ward YW did a car wash. It was actually a nice day , not too hot. Here are a few photos of the girls washing cars!

Babysitting

So, I have been watching kiddos at my house to try and make some money since my husband lost his job. I have the cutest kids anyways, here are a few pictures of the kids.

Little man, as my husband calls him loves to play with Zoeys doors. This is the two of them playing together. My favorite time of the day is when all three kids are napping at the same time!
This is chica sleeping, it's great that she will fall asleep anywhere!
Zoey likes being around the other kids and playing with them.
